Dream And The Minecraft Speedrun Cheating Drama

Back on December 11th, one of the most popular youtubers, Dream, was accused of cheating on Minecraft Speedrunning. The Minecraft speedrunning mod team released a youtube video where they accused Dream of cheating and in the youtube video, explaining how Dream’s 1.16 submission was statistically impossible.

Dream went on to defend himself against the accusation as he also released his own video on social media explaining that the allegations against him were incorrect. He even hired an astrophysicist to help him prove that the mod teams claims were incorrect. The issue continued for a month as the Minecraft community quickly took sides. Dream recently wrote on twitter his thoughts regarding the issue. He began by discussing some of the statistical disagreements between the mod team and the astrophysicist he hired.

Then he also wrote on twitter; “I’m sure this drama has been stressful for most of the Minecraft community, and a lot of that was probably due to my original response to the drama, so I take full responsibility for that. I pride myself on representing the Minecraft youtube community well, and I didn’t.” Then he posted a one final statement, saying; “This will be my final tweet regarding it I believe, so I just want to say that I love you guys and I’m looking forward to everything in the future”.
