Micaylee’s Channel Attacked by Bots

Small twitch streamer that goes by the username Micaylee has her channel exploded overnight because of bot accounts from the platform making her become the fastest growing channel on twitch. For the past few months, Twitch bots accounts have been making tiny channels for the most followed streamers.

Because of this, the twitch platform took action as they recently wiped millions of bot accounts from the platform, and sinking the follower count of many streamers, big and small including big streamer Felix Lengyel aka xQc who lost over 2 million followers. However, it seems like this action has not managed to stop the following bots from continuing to cause problems, as a number of streams have since been targeted. Now, small streamer Micaylee suddenly shot up to the top of follower charts for May 2021 as she went ahead of some big names such as Adin Ross, Tubbo, and Amouranth. Micaylee gained over 1.7 million followers overnight and because of this, she changed her bio, as it now reads; “SOME WEIRDO BOTTED OVER 1.7MILLION FOLLOWERS TO MY ACCOUNT.”

Twitch platform claimed that they have been monitoring the rise of the fake engagement on twitch as they stated; “We have been monitoring the rise of fake engagement on Twitch and have identified 7.5MM+ accounts that break our TOS by follow-botting and view-botting. We are taking action on these accounts and appreciate all of the reports about this issue.” The platform also suggested that legal action may be an option in their fight against bots.
