Macaiyla’s Response To Jake Lucky

Twitch Streamer Macaiyla was verbally abused by her teammate after losing a match in Valorant.

Toxic behavior while playing in any online game like Valorant is the most stressful thing to experience. Many of the victims of these abuses are women whose only goal is to stream peacefully and be respected. Twitch Streamer Macaiyla experienced a traumatizing verbal abuse by her teammate, calling her names.

Riot Games got a hold of the situation and quickly did something about it. They said that they are now working and trying hard to make the game more safer especially to female users. Riot also says that if the same thing will happen again, they want them to report the abuse to the  players so that they can do something about it.

The incident happened when twitch streamer Macaiyla couldn’t execute a kill and that resulted in their team to lose. One of her teammates did not take it well and quickly shouted at her and called her names. Her teammate’s choice of words are sexist and he even subjected Macaiyla to physical violence in real life.

Macaiyla seemed to be unbothered by what happened and wanted to let it slide but her fellow streamer Jake Lucky decided to do something about the incident and reported it to Riot Games. He tweeted by saying he spoke to Riot and Valorant about it and appropriate action against the player has been taken. Jake Lucky didn’t consult Macaiyla before he did that and surprisingly, Macaiyla was mad about it.

Twitch Streamer Macaiyla replied to Jake Lucky’s tweet saying that she preferred that the issue be solved privately and because of what Jake did, she even faced more harassment. She also said that it makes her cringe that people are speaking up for her even when she didn’t ask them to. She then compared herself to her teammate and said she’s as bad as that person, and not only she wants the player to be banned but she wants it to keep it out from the public and dealt with it in private because doing so may result her to deal with more harassment.

Jake Lucky already apologized to Macaiyla and to anyone else who were offended by what he did. Macaiyla already deleted her replied tweet. Both streamers’ points are accepted by people in the community and understand where they both come from.
