Ludwig’s Reason Of Leaving Twitch For YouTube

Ludwig revealed recently that he will be quitting Twitch to stream exclusively on YouTube.

Ludwig gave some insight into how he came to the conclusion that leaving Twitch would be the best thing for his career after the announcement. Despite the fact that YouTube first offered more money than Twitch, Ludwig claimed he preferred to keep his Twitch contract.

Ludwig was still leaning towards Twitch after some more deliberation and some questionable decision-making tactics like flipping a coin. When he called YouTube to deny their offer, he discovered that they were more willing to “fight” for him and work around his objectives, as he describes.

He stated; “I realized at that moment that even though I’ve been with Twitch for three-plus years, even though people call me the golden boy of Twitch, I’ve never felt like the golden boy of Twitch. I’ve never felt particularly loved by Twitch. I love Twitch, but it hasn’t been a two-way street.”

The streamer said that he never felt “wanted” on Twitch, and that no one from Twitch contacted him to congratulate him after his enormously successful subathon stream.

During the negotiation process, Ludwig approached Twitch to see if it might make a better offer. According to Ludwig, this was not the case, and Twitch wished him success with YouTube.

Ludwig’s choice to move to YouTube was influenced by the fact that the platform would enable him to stream for less hours each month. He claims that this will allow him to devote more time to creating content. Ludwig announced that his YouTube channel will be using a new extension that will allow for a seamless platform transition, bringing viewers’ Twitch names and emotes from Twitch over to YouTube.
