Ludwig’s Huge Emote Bug

Streaming platform Twitch’s chat recently discovered a humorous glitch with emotes and emojis, driving popular content creator and streamer Ludwig insane and begging for his chat to be turned off.

It can be difficult to stream without your typical equipment, which is exactly what Ludwig has had to cope with recently, streaming on a laptop from his kitchen while still competing in Chess.com’s $100,000 PogChamps event.

Despite the unusual setup, his typical content hasn’t been affected, but he is indeed frustrated. It’s been a new challenge for Ludwig, from dealing with a variety of technical challenges that come with streaming on a laptop to discovering a massive emote fault that he can’t fix in his Twitch chat.

Ludwig began his stream as usual last August 10th and was set to compete in the quarter-finals of Chess.com’s illustrious $100,000 tournament. However, things rapidly went wrong when Twitch chat noticed a strange issue just a few minutes into the stream.

The issue is caused by Twitch’s emotes, which cause specific emojis to take up more than half of the conversation instead of a large version. Ludwig noticed it and urged viewers to leave and gave his chat the perfect opportunity to mock him and said to them that they should stop posting the said emojis and said that they don’t have to make it worse because the stream is already scuffed.

It appears that the glitch was a one-time occurrence, as others attempting to reproduce it have been unsuccessful. Ludwig was regrettably knocked out of the Chess competition shortly after experiencing the glitch, losing to another Twitch streamer boxbox.

The PogChamps 4 finals took place on September 12, with Fundy and Crokeyz vying for the championship, and YouTube sensation MrBeast vying for the consolation title.
