Ludwig Reacts To ‘Bitter’ Twitch Fans

Ludwig Ahrgen said he was surprised to learn how “bitter” Twitch followers had been toward him since he migrated to YouTube in November 2021, but that it “kind of makes sense.”

Ludwig stunned the internet when he announced in November 2021 that he had inked an exclusive deal with YouTube Gaming and would be quitting Twitch. He’s spoken about the move several times since then. He went so far as to say that his new home has a significant edge over his former one. But it isn’t all sunshine and rainbows.

He claimed to be startled by how “mean” Twitch users have been online since leaving the network during a live show on January 4th.

Here’s what he stated; “How do I feel about the overall switch? I think it’s been good. I am still struggling with the same thing I was struggling with in the first week, which was that people are much meaner than I thought.”

On the surface, he claimed, it doesn’t concern him because content creators are always exposed to “mean people.” He was startled, however, to learn that tribalism was a factor. “I didn’t think people would be so against me because they align themselves so heavily with, like, being a Twitch viewer,” he said. But he believes it “kind of makes sense” because it’s like rooting for a football team.

But it hasn’t all been horrible. Ludwig claims that moving platforms has made him realize just how small the streaming community is in reality. He, too, came to the same conclusion about himself.
