Ludwig passes 57,000 Viewers

Ludwig’s first stream on his new platform, YouTube, was a huge success after he announced he was leaving his longtime home of Twitch to stream exclusively on YouTube.

Early in the broadcast, his initial stream reached 57,000 viewers, and the stream maintained an average viewership of over 40,000 throughout. Ludwig answered all of his viewers’ questions about his decision to switch platforms, as well as basic life topics, during this broadcast. There was a catch, though: for each question the streamer chose not to answer, his viewers were given control of a paintball gun and could fire it at him.

Because of the change in platform, the stream gained a lot of new members, but Ludwig’s YouTube channel also gained roughly 20,000 new subscribers, according to Socialblade. Ludwig’s channel currently has 2.12 million subscribers.

Ludwig is the latest Twitch star to go to YouTube for streaming, following in the footsteps of TimTheTatman and DrLupo who did so earlier this year. In a video posted recently, the streamer explained why he made the decision. Ludwig’s twitch channel had approximately 30,000 subscribers at the time of his departure, placing him among the top 15 in terms of subscribers, according to Twitchtracker.
