Ludwig Believes More Streamers Will Move Over From Twitch to YouTube

Twitch streamer Ludwig Ahgren claims that there are going to be many more Twitch streamers that will leave the platform for an exclusive deal on the rival platform, Youtube.

The two of the biggest streamers on the platform have made the leap from Twitch to Youtube in the past few days including TimTheTatman and DrLupo. Aside from them, there are also some streamers who have been hinting and simply expressing wanting to quit Twitch altogether.

It seems like this is the response to Twitch ignoring some big issues like hate raids on marginalised content creators, gambling streams, and previous problems like the hot-tub meta. Of course, this isn’t great news for Twitch. While the Youtube gaming platform thanked both DrLupo and TimTheTatman for their time on the platform, this will almost certainly hurt Twitch’s overall viewership. However, apparently, it’s going to get worse for the Amazon-owned platform, according to one of its biggest remaining streamers Ludwig Ahgren.

During his recent episode of Ludwig’s Podcast, The Yard, he hinted at the possibility of more streamers ditching Twitch.

He stated; “Dr. Lupo just signed with YouTube exclusively, which, I will say, there’s going to be a bunch more people soon. I can’t leak. I do have some secret info that I can’t reveal too much. But I think a lot of streamers are going to leave Twitch for YouTube… But yeah, I think a bunch of people are leaving mainly because there are zero good contracts coming from Twitch’s end.”

Although he clearly knows of a few people that are going to be moving from Twitch to YouTube, Ludwig wouldn’t leak any information on the identity of who might be moving platforms. This is a bombshell dropped by Ludwig. Twitch has already lost the likes of DrLupo, TimTheTatman, Valkyrae, CouRageJD and more streamers to YouTube. While their viewership has remained steady since these moves, if more streamers are planning on leaving, that won’t be the case for long.
