LIRIK is Angry

Saqib Zahid aka LIRIK is one of the most popular Twitch streamers on the platform with over 2.7 million followers on his channel. He was playing a huge variety of games for his thriving community of supporters. The recent DMCA issue has been leaving some of the Twitch streamers upset, such as LIRIK, when some of his old videos were given a copyright strike. Because of this, he has been forced to remove his old content in order to protect his own channel from being struck.

Many Twitch streamers and fans have been receiving DMCA or Digital Millennium Copyright Act takedown requests from Twitch because of music that streamers have played when they are live broadcasting. DMCA strikes are not just affecting recent contents but also those VOD’s from way back. This has left streamers with no choice but to delete almost all of their clips and VOD’s from their channel.

Some of the biggest Twitch streamers have announced that they will be cleaning up their channels, including popular Twitch streamer Pokimane wherein she said that she will be removing her past VOD’s after learning that LIRIK needed to do the same. During his recent stream, he released a statement about this and said; “I had to nuke everything yesterday. All VODs, all clips were deleted. I feel like my channel’s naked. Oh my god, it f’ing hurt so bad man but it had to happen. Like everything f’ing nuked”.
