Lilypichu Reacts to Claim That Simps Are The Only Reason Female Twitch Stars Receive Views

Twitch’s streaming stats for this month were recently released including the viewing numbers for the platform’s leading female content creators.

Twitch streamers Pokimane, Jinny, LuluLuvely, and more are the top stars included on the list while on top of the charts was the controversial streamer Amouranth who dominated headlines over the past few months for her role in the hot tub and ASMR metas. She surpassed Pokimane as she boasted over 987k hours watched.

Because of this, some of the twitch fans were saying that the reason for the female streamers popularity was because of the simps tuning in to watch women stream. The biggest claims from several Twitch fans was that the platform’s headlining stars like xQc, Ibai Llanos and Shroud had earned their place at the top of the website, while women had been lifted beyond their deserved stardom by dedicated followers or simps. However, also one of the most popular female streamers on twitch Lily Ki aka Lilypichu strongly disagrees with these claims as lily stated that these claims were totally wrong.

In her July 8th twitter post, she responded to the claims stating; “That’s just not true. There are plenty of entertaining women on Twitch, it’s just easier for people to believe the “simp” narrative. What’s your definition of simp? Someone who’s a super fan, right? Who is maybe obsessive? Donates? What makes you think top male streamers don’t have that? That description can easily fit both genders… I have a problem with the fact people overuse the word to generalize a girl’s audience. The percentage of women streamers who do what you think they do is a lot lower than you think, why would you generalize all women streamers?”
