KSI Apologizes

Popular youtuber Olajide Olayinka Williams “JJ” Olatunji better known online as KSI has recently apologized after he received backlash for using a transgender slur. KSI is an English YouTuber, filmmaker, actor, musician, and professional boxer mainly known for his music, vlogs, boxing, and for his challenges with the Sidemen.

He has previously been criticized for making a series of inappropriate jokes during one of his Jackbox streams together with Minecraft star Fundy. During the said stream, they used transphobic slurs that caused backlash from the netizens that are claiming that KSI is transphobic. On March 9th, KSI decided to hit back at those transphobia allegations. He first wrote on twitter; “Hold up, people actually think I’m transphobic?” This tweet blew up quickly and because of this, KSI followed the now-deleted tweet with the YouTuber using another slur.

His now-deleted tweet has been replaced by a less inflammatory version stating; “My bad for saying transgender slurs. Honestly didn’t know they were slurs. I know now though.” Even though his second tweet has now been removed, some users have jumped in to remind KSI of the original version of his apology tweet as one twitter user made a screenshot of his original tweet asking KSI as to why he deleted his previous tweet. For now, KSI has not yet responded to this situation and it remains to be seen if his apology will be accepted by his critics.
