Kodorin: Newest Super Smash Bros Melee’s Rising Star

John Ko AKA Kodorin is one of the rising star Marth players on the Super Smash Bros. Melee competitive scene right now. He has been around for years, even making top 100 at one time and made a name for himself in the Melee online that was caused by the pandemic and arrival of better netplay for the title thanks to the rollback netcode client Slippi.

He has won his way to the national Melee invitational tournament and his first in-person major tournament since the pandemic started, Smash Summit 11.

Summit 11 is the latest series of Smash Summit, invitational tournaments where best of the best were invited based on their high placements. Other players can also join the roster by qualifying through a preliminary tournament or being voted, just like Kodorin did.

At the said Summit, Kodorin competed against Hungrybox, Mango, Plup, Zain and more. He placed ninth in the event which significantly showed how many seasoned veterans he competed against.

According to Kodorin, he started playing Melee since it was released and said that he was like any other Smasher saying that he was not talented at first and that there are no special traits about him. He said that what got him ahead was him constantly asking questions and how to keep on improving himself essentially. Also what makes him ahead of other Smashers was he kept changing his plans and that he kept on trying new things and to him, that;s the defining trait of his improvement.

Kodorin said that every day, he is trying to improve himself even more and said that he wants to be the best and that one day, he will be. Many are already amazed by his dedication and his hardship and that resulted in him earning many people’s respect and support. Many people now want to keep an eye on him to see where he goes next and his future will hold.
