Jon Zherka Unbanned

Popular twitch streamer Jon Zherka with more than 165k followers on the platform has recently been unbanned from twitch after he controversially banned for three months for showing a woman in a bikini live on stream. Jon Zherka is best known for his IRL and gaming content and he has amassed a large following since beginning his channel in 2019. Back on March 20th, 2021, Jon Zherka was banned from the platform, initially for unknown reasons.

A month later, he went on to reveal the reason behind his ban and that is after viewing a photo of a girl in a bikini for “too long” during a stream. When he learned the reason for the ban, he expressed his frustration as he pointed out that “girls literally blow up swimming pools in their living rooms and pose sexually… for millions of dollars on Twitch”.

This comment was in reference to the ongoing controversy around a seeming double standard with Twitch allowing hot tub streams while punishing other kinds of sexualized content. Zherka had produced some content for his YouTube channel during his time out, but it was clear from the inconsistency of uploads that he was missing his Twitch stomping ground.

Twitch streamer Amouranth has recently been unbanned from twitch after three days for doing a controversial ASMR ‘earlicking’ stream. Jon Zherka retweeted the announcement tweet where amouranth got unbanned as he voiced his frustration at the platform once more stating; “How am I still banned…”

Now, after three months of being banned from the platform, Zherka has been unbanned and is allowed to stream again on twitch as his channel was reactivated on June 26th. While Zherka has yet to respond publicly to his unban, fans will hope to see him return to streaming as soon as possible. Zherka’s unban shows that Twitch doesn’t simply forget about long-banned streamers.
