JohnnyBoi_1: $3,000 Rocket League Tournament

RLCS Caster and Twitch Streamer John MacDonald AKA Johnnyboi_i hosted the $3,000 winner take all, best of 1, single elimination Rocket League tournament last August 5th.

Johnnyboi_1 is a well known caster and known for casting and hosting high-profile 1v1 matches on his Twitch stream, where many newcomers and current veterans have made their debut in the public eye. The August 5th tournament was reminiscent of The Twelve Titans, which saw the 12 of the best 1v1 Rocket League players battle for a winner takes all prize pool of $10,000. The bracket draw of the said tournament that happened on August 5th started at 11:45am ET and it was hosted on three Twitch channels: Johnnyboi_i, Tylacto, and Shogun.

The RLCS does not include the 1v1 Rocket League but Johnnyboi_1 made sure the game mode is not forgotten. With 32 contender, mostly from Middle East and Europe, the said tournament included some of the best Rocket League players of all time, also some of the newcomers who’s starting to make a name for themselves also had the chance to show their skills and they also always had a place in Johnnyboi_1’s event.

The last Twelve Titans event in 2018, Kyle Robertson AKA Scrub Killa and Victor Locquet AKA Fairy Peak! battled for the $10,000 prize pool in the final. With the gentleman’s agreement, they decided that each of them would get $9,000 and $1,000. Scrub Killa defeated Fairy Peak! and both of them are featured in Johnnyboi_1’s tournament, but many newcomers and contenders have risen up in the past few years since then.
