Jakenbake Is Shocked By Twitch Bot Raid Spam

‘JakenbakeLIVE,’ a popular IRL Twitch streamer, was perplexed after receiving many huge raids from inactive Twitch accounts just before his stream was highlighted on the site’s front page.

Since he began streaming, Jakenbake has garnered over 573,000 followers, with many of them eagerly anticipating his return to IRL broadcasts after a long hiatus. On his return to Singapore on March 4, he was greeted by a stream sniper who wanted to express his gratitude to the creator for his work. Just a few days later, the Twitch streamer was streaming when he was attacked by a slew of inactive accounts, just as his stream was about to be promoted to the main page.

Jakenbake got a slew of bot raids while live broadcasting on March 9 and immediately assumed they were sent by Twitch to artificially inflate his stats ahead of his front-page feature. He said; “Bot raids. Wait, why is this happening? Does Twitch inflate their viewer count by sending fake raids? I’m supposed to be on the front page soon. There’s no way Twitch inflates their viewer counts just for the front page, right?”

After checking his chat to verify if the accounts belonged to streamers, he continued his stream. He continued: “The timing is really weird. No one else knew that I was on the front page at four.”

According to Twitchtracker, Jakenbake received an influx of viewers roughly an hour before his Twitch feature. While it’s unclear who supplied the suspected bot accounts to Jake’s channel, it’s evident that he didn’t appreciate being raided. The IRL streamer is about to leave Singapore for another adventure, this time in Thailand.
