Ironmouse Breaks All Twitch Records With Her Subathon

Twitch has a new emerging star, one who has already surpassed Hasanabi and xQc as the platform’s top performers in several ways. Ironmouse is a virtual pink-haired anime VTuber who has been participating in an uncapped subathon for the past 18 days. She’s also shattered a slew of livestreaming records to become Twitch’s top female broadcaster, with over 100,000 active subscribers, which makes sense given her laid-back style.

Ironmouse has been streaming for quite some time. She began her career as an indie video creator on YouTube in August 2017, playing horror games like 7 Days to Die and Alien: Isolation before joining the VTuber agency VShojo in November 2020.

What about her streams, though? They’re actually quite understated. Ironmouse usually has some music playing in the background, such as lo-fi chillhop or thumping dance music, while playing It Takes Two or Pokémon Heart Gold. If she isn’t gaming, she may be found reacting to content (such as YouTuber Dhar Mann’s videos) or speaking with other Pokémon streamers. She also enjoys singing, so you could hear her belting out some Japanese rock. Overall, hanging around on stream with Ironmouse is a relatively casual experience.

Ironmouse’s rise to Twitch notoriety is largely due to an ongoing subathon she has been organizing. A subathon, which is a combination of the words “marathon” and “subscriber,” is an event hosted by a streamer with the goal of attracting a large number of subscribers for a single continuous stream.

Ironmouse has been streaming for 18 days and has accumulated over 100,000 active subscribers, with each new subscriber adding 15 seconds to her feed. Ironmouse is expected to stay on Twitch for another two hours and forty minutes as of this writing.

Ironmouse has broken a slew of Twitch records thanks to the subathon. In February, Ironmouse surpassed 100,000 active subscribers, became the top female streamer in the world in terms of hours viewed, reached one million followers, and went on to become the first female streamer to ever have the most subscribers, among other astounding numbers. It’s a remarkable achievement considering Amouranth and Pokimane were Twitch’s last huge female stars. Ironmouse has more active and paid subscribers than both streamers combined, according to TwitchTracker.
