Internet Unhappy about Pokimane Deal with ‘Cloak’

Imane Anys, aka Pokimane, posted an announcement on June 18th that she is happy to join the Cloak brand as a partner and as a creative director. When she signed with the Cloak company as a partner, some of the people reacted by bringing up Pokimane’s past issues and controversy.

An online user named @OriginalParcher said that that he hopes Mark and Jack, the founders of the Cloak brand, knows Pokimane’s history of brigading, copyright striking, and attacking the sponsors of other YouTubers. He thinks Pokimane is the worst example of the platform.

Because of this, someone brought up other recent controversies she is involved with. A YouTuber called It’sAGundam was called out by Pokimane for posting a video mocking her fans. In Pokimane’s video, she said that Youtubers have been using fake tweets and broadcasting fake news to her fans.

Pokimane also criticized It’sAGundam’s sponsor ‘Ridge Wallet’. Some people condemned Pokimane’s behavior while others said that she is simply using her popularity to destroy someone else’s career.

Pokimane released a statement that she has never told her followers to contact anyone else’s sponsor.
