Inappropriate Named Streamer Banned

The DMCA takedown drama has been striking and banning Twitch streamers that have a copyright content issue. One Twitch streamer has been banned from the platform for a completely different reason. A Twitch streamer with the username Piece_Of_Sheet has received a notice from Twitch that he has been banned, the reason being because he was using an inappropriate username. Piece_Of_Sheet is a League of Legends content creator and has been using that said username for 8 years already.

“It was like being on the platform for years under the same username and got no problems about that in a long time and then getting banned now because of the username that has been used for 8 years”.

Piece_Of_Sheet tweeted out on Twitter his frustrations towards the issue. He stated, “??? I streamed on twitch back in 2012 when own3d.tv was more popular….been super active for 8 years (no complaints from anyone) but now get banned for an inappropriate name? Can someone at support look into this please? Hoping this is a mistake. @TwitchSupport” together with an attached picture of the notice that indicates that he was using an inappropriate username.

Piece_Of_Sheet did admit that he had been banned on stream before, but that he had already served out that suspension. He shared; “I fell asleep on stream once about seven years ago and got banned for that. The ban was then obviously lifted, and the staff member that banned me actually ended up staying around the stream for months because he enjoyed the stream and the content”.
