Ice Poseidon Swatting Incident

After getting swatted by trolls “multiple times a day,” YouTuber Paul ‘Ice Poseidon’ Denino has said that he has suffered from PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder).

Swatting is a disturbingly common crime. Armed cops stormed the homes of popular streamers after trolls online obtained their addresses and made fake emergency phone calls to the authorities. Ice Poseidon is one content creator who has experienced swatting firsthand, having been swatted while boarding a plane, resulting in a permanent Twitch suspension. The IRL streamer stated that he was swatted “four times a day” and that he was afraid for his life. He had PTSD as a result of it.

Denino claimed he was swatted every day after revealing his personal address or whereabouts to viewers. He said; “I think I got swatted every single day for a year. Multiple times a day. One time, a SWAT team came to my house three times in like four hours.”

Denino addressed SWAT units about the prank, including the same cops who would react to the call, and was told that “protocol” required them to respond. Some viewers, however, said that Denino “enjoyed” being swatted since it drew attention. Although he acknowledged that it increased his viewership, he also confessed that it “brought the wrong kind of viewers.” 

During one of his livestreams, he feared for his safety after a fan stated they were going to his house with a gun. Denino remarked; “I had real PTSD of being shot all the time. It took me a while to get over that. I could not keep my back to a window. I would think someone’s going to f**king shoot me through the window in my house.”

Ice Poseidon’s Twitch career came to an end because of swatting in the end. Even when he switched to YouTube, it wasn’t enough to get him out of trouble.
