HasanAbi Received DMCA Takedown

Hasan “HasanAbi” Piker received a DMCA copyright claim from the Fox Network shortly after calling out Ludwig Ahgren for “snitching” on Twitch streamers participating in the MasterChef meta.

Ludwig used a recent YouTube stream to talk about the problems with streaming reality shows, prompting HasanAbi to criticize Ludwig’s approach. Making a video, according to HasanAbi, will only call attention to the MasterChef meta, causing problems for Twitch streamers. However, big content creators who stream reality shows are suddenly facing greater backlash than regular streamers.

Imane “Pokimane” Anys received her first Twitch suspension for live-streaming Avatar, and now HasanAbi has received a copyright takedown for live-streaming MasterChef.

Due to the popularity of MasterChef on Twitch, streamers such as Felix “xQc” Lengyel have seen an increase in viewership. Gordon Ramsay himself contacted xQc in order to learn more about the streaming platform.

HasanAbi, on the other hand, now declares that the MasterChef meta is finished. He uploaded an image of an email he received from Twitch informing him that the Fox Network, the media corporation that owns the rights to the show, had claimed copyright to his MasterChef streams and recordings.

This follows a Twitter spat between Ludwig and HasanAbi following the former’s release of a video analyzing the MasterChef meta. HasanAbi posted to social media after the stream response to express his dissatisfaction with Ludwig.

HasanAbi’s sequence of tweets did not age well, as evidenced by HasanAbi’s more recent tweet claiming that the MasterChef meta is finished.
