Gura Emote Being Removed On Twitch

Gura, a virtual YouTube streamer with over 3 million fans, has reacted to the discovery of one of her now-deleted emotes on Twitch. Her likeness is being utilized to wave at other streamers despite the fact that she has never streamed outside of YouTube.

Emotes are a means for the chat to communicate with the broadcaster without actually saying anything. Many streamers, in fact, have emotes that viewers are supposed to utilize at specified times, such as when the streamer does something embarrassing or humorous.

Viewers on Twitch can utilize either the platform’s global emotes or channel-specific emotes if they are a paying subscriber. The number of emotes available to a streamer is determined by how many subscribers they have.

Users can, however, have access to a massive library of user-created emotes by installing the BetterTTV browser extension. Both Twitch and YouTube support these emotes. One of Gura’s now-deleted emotes is also included in the extension.

Gawr Gura is a YouTuber who has garnered a 3.7 million follower following since joining the platform in 2020. She’s also a member of Hololive, where she can be seen playing games live in front of thousands of people on a regular basis. Gura addressed her feelings about Twitch and why she likes chatting with her viewers on YouTube at the end of a recent stream. She stated; “I feel like Twitch chat is less conversation and more just massive walls of emotes. It’s just different.”

Gura spoke up on the GuraWave emote during this discussion. “I do know about the GuraWave emote on Twitch. I have seen it before. GuraWave, that’s always a bit weird.”

The GuraWave emote is no longer available, however it was available in 2020 for a little time. They had gotten emotes from an artist who was notorious for tracing other people’s artwork and passing it off as their own during Gura’s climb to prominence.

Gura’s community alerted both the streamer and Hololive that the new emotes had been discovered. The emotes, as well as the original GuraWave, were taken from the channel within an hour.

However, user okabar did not hesitate to publish the GuraWave emote to BetterTTV just a few months later. While the emote artist wished to stay anonymous, their work will be broadcast on BTTV despite Gura’s wishes.
