Greekgodx Protesting

Greekgodx said that he will be suspended from Twitch for two weeks following a contentious ban, and he persisted in contesting the justification for the restriction.

On July 28th, Greek broadcasted himself passing by a family while making unintelligible noises, which many viewers took to be a mocking of Asian languages. Greek denied this assertion, asserting that the family was not Asian and used his own supposed Asian ancestry as a line of defense against accusations of racism. Greek’s Twitch channel remained suspended despite his protests. A day later, Greek disclosed that he had been formally suspended for engaging in hate speech and that his Twitch channel would continue to be blocked for two weeks. The streamer claimed he filed an appeal to maybe get his suspension shortened. Greek continued to argue that all language-mocking streamers should be charged with the same hateful conduct violation.

The banned streamer said, “If I hear a single streamer mock a British accent I’m gonna freak out. That is 100% racist from now on.”

Greek’s former frequent collaborator and well-known streamer xQc praised Twitch’s choice to remove Greek in the replies to his tweet. Greeks’ attitude toward accents was contrasted by XQc to the use of racial epithets. “History of usage, intention etc play a big role in that dynamic. Stop being a fuckass and get a grip will you? We know this isn’t you. Fuck off.”

Greek’s supporters continued to argue with xQc in the comments, while Greek himself remained silent other than to report the ban.
