Greekgodx Given 4th Ban

Greekgodx, a Twitch streamer, has been barred from the livestreaming service for the fourth time today.

Although it was unconfirmed, many internet viewers thought it was because of what they saw to be a racially offensive clip that had appeared from his channel hours earlier. Since then, Greekgodx has refuted the accusations of racism. Greekgodx filmed himself strolling through a Greek city’s streets on July 28th during a livestream. The Twitch broadcaster made some incoherent noises after passing a family, which many people took to be a jab at the language of the viewers. However, Greekgodx afterwards asserted that the family was Greek and that they were conversing in their native tongue rather than Asian. He also defended himself against individuals who had accused him of racism and refuted the claims.

Greekgodx commented, “That was a geek family speaking Greek. And to assume that they are Asian is very wrong in itself. My family members are Asian why would I be racist to the people who brought me up.”

The video soon gained popularity on Twitter and Reddit as fans urged Twitch to deactivate Greekgodx. Greekgodx’s Twitch account was deleted from the website few hours after the stream ended, and the Streamer Bans Twitter account quickly announced the streamer had been banned.

How long the ban will stay and whether this suspension from the platform will be permanent are presently unknown. Greekgodx and Twitch haven’t provided any information on the duration or justification for the suspension.
