GMHikaru Responds To Botez Sisters

Alexandra and Andrea Botez are chess players and streamers on twitch. They both are funny, engaging, and absolute savages on the chess board. They have now gained more than half a million followers on the platform. Recently, Alexandria and Andrea Botez have called out Grandmaster Hikaru Nakamura for unfollowing them on Twitter.

On January 12th, the Botez sisters noticed that GMHikaru had unfollowed them on Twitter. It brought forth accusations that GMHikaru was upset that the sisters were broadcasting their chess streams in the “Just Chatting” category on Twitch instead of the less viewed “Chess” category. As anyone knows, the ‘Just Chatting’ category on twitch has a higher viewer totals on twitch while the ‘Chess’ category ranks lower.

Grandmaster Hikaru responded to the Botez sisters recently and stated; “There were some misunderstandings regarding certain events that have happened in the past, and we have all spoken and things have been sorted out.” Shortly after, the botez sisters commented back and said; “I actually apologized to Hikaru yesterday, We did have a call yesterday and we worked through a lot of the issues … we actually made up. Everything is really good between us now.”
