The Dream SMP Minecraft server has a roster that includes some of the most well-known creators and a plot that is full of fascinating backstory.
Although it hasn’t been very active lately, Dream has said that there are significant plans for the server that are in the works and will materialize soon.
The popular Minecraft server’s co-founders, Dream and GeorgeNotFound, were born in the year 2020. While it initially began as a platform for them to play on with their friends, the server’s course changed as it developed into a roleplaying, character-based community where users could share their individual experiences and weave them together into a larger, more cohesive narrative. Most server users have been inactive recently, therefore Dream stated that the Dream SMP will shortly resume. On his private Twitter account, the author posted a brief thread outlining the server’s objectives and offering a sneak peek at upcoming content.
Dream disclosed that the issue of staleness is the cause of the inactivity of many creators. The Dream SMP is different from other SMPs due of the unique narrative and history that it has associated with it, whereas most other SMPs occasionally reset to keep things interesting.
The Minecraft server has been running since May 2020, which makes it difficult for many creators to find fresh things to do. Resetting the server is also not an option because it would remove the narrative and history that are the foundation of the server. Dream said in the voice recordings posted to his personal Twitter account that the server members collaborated to find a fix for this problem.
Dream stated; “There’s some stuff that’s definitely happening, um, and it will be unique. It will be, um, a way we can kind of have that best of both worlds and have an awesome kind of season two to the Dream SMP while also, you know, concluding stuff from, um, season one in a way but still, you know, to be continued.”
According to the Minecraft celebrity, everyone on the server is “committed” and “excited” to resume playing content with the new strategy they have in place. Another aspect of their strategy makes sure that users will want to stream often on the service. Dream added; “You guys won’t kind of expect what’s coming. The story is not ending, the story is gonna be back and better than ever but there will be a lot of things that will change things.”
The last hints Dream gave about what was to come indicated that dynamics would change, relationships would change, and ultimately everything on the server will be affected by a significant “world-altering event.” Although the creator did not offer a formal timeframe, he did say that events need to begin in July. The only other thing Dream disclosed was that its SMP activity would pick up “soon.”
