Dream Responds to Hate

Popular Minecraft Youtuber Dream has recently confirmed that he will not be advocating for any monster in the upcoming poll after “jokingly influencing” last year’s Minecraft mob voting.

Dream is one of Minecraft’s most popular creators, with over 26 million YouTube subscribers and nearly 2 million Twitter followers. Despite this, he’s extremely divisive, with a devoted following on one side and a fanatical anti-Dream movement on the other.

While there is constant drama between the two sides, the most recent point of contention has been the upcoming Minecraft mob vote, which will allow players to choose which monster will be introduced next to the game.

Dream has been receiving a lot of backlash from Minecraft players after “jokingly influencing” last year’s poll, with many urging him to leave the decision to the community and not get involved.

Now, the Minecraft community will vote on a new mob to be added to the game on October 16, with the Glare, Allay, and Copper Golem as options. While some players may find this a difficult decision, Dream has revealed on Twitter that he will not be voting or “influencing” the vote this year, as he did last year. Instead, he wants to leave it up to the community, and in response to the backlash, he said he could understand why swaying the vote might enrage some players.

Here’s what he stated; “As much as it is funny to joke about people getting deathly mad at a block game, I won’t be advocating for any mob as I understand why some people would be upset with me jokingly influencing the vote last year”.

Dream couldn’t help but make a jokey statement in the thread before finishing the announcement there, claiming that he’s “still going to rig it.” Despite receiving a lot of backlash for this comment, Dream confirmed it was a joke by concluding the tweet with a “/j.”
