Dream Responds to Controversy

Minecraft YouTuber Dream responded to another controversy again surrounding his comments about his ADHD medication when he was younger during his recent interview with Anthony Padilla. On June 8th, Dream sat down in an interview with Anthony Padilla as they have discussed a lot of topics including his recent speedrun cheating scandal and about doing a face reveal in the near future. During the interview, Dream also opened up about his ADHD or attention deficit hyperactivity disorder diagnosis back when he was still a kid. Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder is a mental health disorder that can cause above-normal levels of hyperactive and impulsive behaviors.

People with ADHD may also have trouble focusing their attention on a single task or sitting still for long periods of time. Dream discussed being diagnosed with ADHD as a child and how that impacted his education as he stated that he was having trouble at his school and could never pay attention. Aside from this, he also said that he was always doodling or drawing.

Then he went on to open up about being prescribed medication as he claimed that he has been pouring it down on the drain and when the interviewer asks why, Dream responds stating; “I didn’t feel like myself on meds. I feel like I was way less creative. My mind didn’t drift as much.” Dream followed up his statement warning the viewers that he doesn’t encourage anyone to do what he did as he claimed that he was not an expert on mental health. However, it seems like the critics were not too happy with him when he explained how throwing out his medication helped him as despite the warning to fans to not follow what he did, some critics became upset with the YouTuber over his comments and argued that he was setting a bad example for his fanbase. Using his alternative twitter account, Dream has now responded to the critics simply stating; “Mom wake up the new dream controversy just dropped,” then followed up by another tweet writing, “they really be like: he visualized his personal experience as a kid with ADHD and medication for it?!? DISGUSTING.”
