Dream Denies Racism Accusations

One of the most popular Minecraft streamer Dream responded to racism accusations and denied the claims. Youtube Minecraft streamer Dream was accused of using a slur in a clip reportedly taken in 2017 by a Youtube stream from ‘untrusted’, allegedly featuring Dream. In the stream video clip, they allegedly use a racial slur while playing a Minecraft Counter-Strike mod as they can be heard saying, “pop pop n**” and the other players in the call repeatedly make reference to a player named ‘Dream’ across the 31-minute stream.

Dream responded to the accusations via a series of twitter posts saying that the voice in the clip was “very clearly” not his. On March 25th, Dream wrote on twitter; “Just so people are aware, people are sharing a video of some random guy saying the n-word and saying it’s me, as well as a random account with a gross name history and saying it’s mine. Neither are me very clearly. People are disgusting.” Dream also denied changing Minecraft names to offensive messages as an indexed history of the account, which revealed previous names, showing it changing from “JewzDid911”, to “NotDream”, and later to “LoliAbductor” across a span from 2015 to 2017.

Dream went on to clarify that he hasn’t had any of the IDs associated with the account referenced above, although he said he didn’t get the ‘Dream’ account until 2019. Furthermore, not long after Dream released his statement, the Twitter user who posted the clip challenged Dream to prove it wasn’t him before admitting himself that he could neither prove that it was Dream in the clip.
