Dream Comments On Doxxing

Faceless streamer “Dream” has been criticised for his remarks on doxxing. It comes after he was doxxed himself, and then went on to make some contentious comments regarding the subject that enraged followers.

Dream has created a fantastic career despite never disclosing his true identity, experiencing enormous success with his Minecraft work and earning Content Creator of the Year at the Game Awards.

He has, however, been the target of toxic behavior in the streaming community, which he has openly called out in the past, as has everyone in the public view. Doxxing is one such issue. Doxxing is the act of looking for and distributing private or identifiable information about a specific person on the internet, usually with malevolent intent.

Unfortunately, doxxing is an ongoing issue that occurs on a daily basis. However, the subject has lately gained traction as a result of some inflammatory comments made by YouTuber Dream, which started on Twitter and then escalated during his livestream.

Dream came under fire on April 11th after calling out a Twitter user, who subsequently went on to privatize their account as a result of doxxing by Dream’s admirers. Rather than discouraging his fans from doxxing, Dream tweeted that calling people out for their “bs” was “satisfying.” However, fans were concerned that Dream’s encouragement may be dangerous. Dream’s controversial remarks follow a cryptic message about his sexuality from the YouTuber. While the post was warmly received, it also prompted a heated conversation on the platform, with fans debating the specifics of what the YouTuber was stating.

Following Dream’s statements on doxxing, the issue deteriorated further when a footage from his livestream appeared on Twitter, in which he discussed doxxing those with a small following.

The streamer said: “I’m just gonna express that, if you are a person on Twitter and you have seven followers and you get doxxed on Twitter, the odds of you having something happen to you in your life are so astronomically small it’s not even worth worrying about.”

Dream was quickly criticized for his remarks, and he later clarified his position on Twitter, criticizing the footage for misrepresenting his ideas.

People who doxx others or “participate in harassing and threatening people” are “not welcome in my community,” according to the Minecraft pro, who went on to share a video in which he explained his entire perspective on doxxing in its entirety.

With his recent Twitter message, Dream may have intended to bring the drama to a close, but it remains to be seen if this is the case.
