Dr Disrespect’s Take On Streaming Vs TV

Dr Disrespect, a streaming icon, argues that livestreams are now, on the whole, superior than television since viewers can tune in and out without missing much. He wouldn’t say no to a Netflix series, though.

Streaming and YouTube content have mostly replaced more traditional forms of entertainment such as television and movies during the last decade. Many content creators have gone over between the two – especially in the field of sports, where streamers have been allowed to host their own broadcasts of games – but the up-and-coming sources have yet to take over, despite their growing popularity. However, in the case of Dr Disrespect, he believes that streaming has surpassed television as the preferred method of entertainment, because fans can enjoy continuous broadcasts that they can fit into their schedules.

During his April 20th stream, The Doc received a donation from a fan who explained that they had to leave to attend a job interview, but that they had returned after a successful trip and were thrilled to see him still online.

The Doc said of his long streams, noting that viewers may come and go without missing anything; “That’s one of the beautiful things that’s not really talked about in the world of streaming. You get off work, come back and the Two-Time is still up.  The Arena, we’re still rocking! Eight and a half hours later we’re still rolling baby. That’s one of the most underrated things about a streamer in comparison to say, what, Jimmy Fallon? What’s he do, he shows up and has to read a script for 45 minutes and goes home. That’s easy, man! Holy s**t.”

As usual, the Two-Time used the opportunity to pitch an idea, encouraging Netflix to hire him for his own late-night show. He said, “Give me a call man, and we’ll set the precedent.”

The Doc did sign a deal with a TV company for a show based on his legendary image a few years ago. Who knows if it will ever see the light of day. He’ll keep taking names and winning games on broadcast till then.
