Dr Disrespect Thoughts About Streamer Awards

Herschel “Dr Disrespect” Beahm IV’s ban from Twitch was perhaps one of the most divisive moments in the streaming platform’s history, and its repercussions may still be felt today.

Dr Disrespect has been battling with behind-the-scenes legal concerns with Twitch since that fateful moment, alleging that it has destroyed his reputation and prevented him from pursuing financial options such as sponsorships. Dr Disrespect’s blatant rejection from the first annual Streamer Awards may have been the most recent complaint.

The 2022 Streamer Awards was a streaming award ceremony established “by streamers” and “for streamers” by Blaire “QTCinderella” and Maya Higa. It was intended to be a more authentic and less corporate streaming presentation that highlighted prominent creators ranging from gamers to hot tub streamers. Dr. Disrespect, on the other hand, was not a fan of the 2022 Streamer Awards. The Two-Time decided to make some comments regarding the Streamer Awards on stream after discussing his new game, Project Moon. 

During his stream, Dr Disrespect stated; “On this channel, we’re not interested in short-term collaborations just so everyone can forget the next day. We’re not interested in creating our own streamer awards show so we can hand it to our best friends. Wrong.”

Dr. Disrespect’s viewers laughed, saying things like “yikes,” “true,” and “he said the thing.” The Doc quickly moved on from the comment, but it was undoubtedly a highlight of the show that fans didn’t miss. It’s unclear whether Dr Disrespect is actually upset about being left out of the Streamer Awards, but he appears to be siding with those who believe the results were manipulated. Many people claimed that the most coveted prize, Streamer of the Year, was rigged because the winner, Ludwig, is dating host QTCinderella. It’s also unclear why the Two-Time didn’t make the cut for any of the dozens of categories.

It’s conceivable that his Twitch ban had something to do with it, as QTCinderella was afraid to even mention Dr Disrespect when streaming the show on Twitch. However, neither streamer has addressed this issue.
