Dr Disrespect Reveals Stats

When Twitch abruptly and without explanation banned Dr Disrespect — Herschel “Guy” Beahm — off the platform permanently in June 2020, he was one of the most popular streams in the world. This was, as you can assume, big news at the time. Not only was Dr Disrespect one of the most popular streamers in the world, bringing in a lot of cash for the Amazon-owned corporation, but Twitch had also offered him a substantial deal a few months before to lock him down. The incident was finally resolved this week, with Dr Disrespect claiming that his legal struggle with Twitch over the subject had come to an end, with neither party admitting “to any wrongdoing,” and that he was “moving on” from it all.

Dr. Disrespect has previously spoken out about how much the whole affair cost him, stating that the largest impact was multiple companies refusing to engage with him due to the lack of openness and closure.

The streamer said last year; “So much defamation related to the ban that we’ve had to deal with. It’s insane. To not be involved with the Battlefield launch… First off, it’s been a year and a half. EA… don’t be pathetic. You’re talking about the two-time, the back to back…. I’m looking at trophies right over my left shoulder. Don’t be so pathetic and scared to death, holy s**t. It’s embarrassing.”

Dr Disrespect’s ability to make sponsor partnerships has been harmed by the Twitch situation, but it hasn’t harmed his streaming numbers. In fact, according to data from Stream Hatchet, the Doc is broadcasting more on YouTube than he does on Twitch, indicating that it has assisted his growth.

We have no way of knowing how accurate these figures are, but if they are, it’s a remarkable achievement that affirms Dr Disrespect’s status as one of the most popular streamers on the planet.
