Dr Disrespect $100k Fortnite Tournament

Dr. Disrespect is throwing a massive Fortnite competition, but Twitch streamers who participate must follow some tough guidelines.

Dr Disrespect was unexpectedly removed from Twitch in 2020. The exact reason for his ban has remained a secret to this day, but many have guessed that it must be quite severe. Dr Disrespect was Twitch’s poster boy thanks to his bizarre persona and large following, therefore the ban came as a complete surprise to those who follow the influencer world. Dr Disrespect has found popularity on YouTube, despite the fact that, unlike Ludwig and other streamers, he does not appear to have an official relationship with the company.

Other Twitch streamers are forbidden from playing with Dr Disrespect or highlighting him on their streams due to his Twitch ban. Streamers competing in his Fortnite tournament have been inconvenienced as a result of this.

To avoid punishment from Twitch, Twitch streamers must silence Dr Disrespect in-game, avoid showing him on stream, and only refer to him by nicknames like “the two time champion,” according to a set of regulations provided by Boom TV, the event’s organiser. This is comparable to how Harry Potter characters refer to Voldemort as “He Who Must Not Be Named,” as stating his name gives him power within the fictitious realm, according to @JaredFPS on Twitter.

Although the reason behind Dr Disrespect’s ban is unknown, many people believe that treating him as an outsider is not the best answer.

It’s a bit severe, and it’s possible that some content creators will lobby for revisions to the rules. While they may not want to aggressively promote Dr. Disrespect or allow Twitch creators to have him as a guest on their stream, pretending as if he doesn’t exist isn’t very beneficial. If Twitch decides to change its policies about streaming with banned users, only time will tell.
