Digital GlitchCon On for November

Amazon owned gaming platform Twitch has announced its virtual TwitchCon for November. It is no longer called TwitchCon, but rather GlitchCon and it is happening on November 14th, 2020. GlitchCon is a convention that occurs twice a year, once in North America and once in Europe for the live streaming video platform, Twitch. The convention is organized by Twitch and its main focus is centered around the culture of video game streaming and Video gaming in general. For some streamers and content creators, it gives them an opportunity to seek improvements for their streams and grow their brand.

The event is likely to feature eSports tournaments, digital meet-and-greets with popular streamers, cosplay contests and more. It will be similar to the physical TwitchCon convention, except that instead it will be an online version. Many are hoping that the online version will achieve something similar but Twitch hasn’t said anything yet about what we can expect.

TwitchCon was originally scheduled for September 25-27, 2020 but it was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic. Twitch at the time hinted that it would take its annual convention online.

The official Twitter account of Twitch has released a teaser for GlitchCon. They have stated; “Because no fun was ever had by NOT going into an interdimensional portal. Step inside with us. GlitchCon – 11.14.20.”, together with an attached teaser video which says; “Important announcement from Twitch. Numerous glitches have been observed on Twitch. In this particular universe, those glitches were caused by — yes — a portal to another dimension”.
