CohhCarnage Pushing For Major Change To Bans

Twitch streamer Mohamed Beshir aka Ziqo’s twitch ban has become controversial. It has caused a bit of confusion regarding what had happened and the reason behind the ban. However, Ziqo learned that the reason for his twitch ban was because of using hateful speech and slurs. Ziqo made a speculation that twitch might have misheard him during one of his streams for a homophobic slur word since twitch did not show him the flagged content.

Some fans and some streamers have been questioning the ban being handed out to streamers because of this incident. Twitch streamer Ben Cassell aka CohhCarnage, a member of the Twitch Safety Advisory Council, has come up with a simple fix. Cohhcarnage replied to the twitter post of Ziqo stating that twitch has unbanned him. Cohhcarnage wrote; “Great to hear but man… six full days gone due to a mistake that could have been fixed in minutes. Twitch should consider coming up with policies where, when this happens, people given false-bans get front page time for the time they lost. This stuff HAS to get better.”

Followed by another tweet stating; “One huge, glaring problem is not including account managers in this process. If that account manager was given the clip, he could have shown it to Ziqo, Ziqo could have said, “No, I didn’t say that. I said this.” Bam. PROBLEM SOLVED. Whole ban would have lasted less than an hour.”
