CodeMiko Discusses Reason Behind Her Ban

Codemiko is one of the most popular Vtubers and also a streamer on twitch. She is known for her creative streams that allow viewers to get involved by influencing parts of the broadcast. Codemiko was previously banned from twitch including two short-term suspensions in September 2020. Codemiko was yet again banned from the platform on January 19th and this was her third time of being banned.

At first, she didn’t share with her followers the reason behind the ban and this has led to some speculating that the reason was because she said the word simp during the stream. She recently posted a twitlonger post on her twitter explaining the reason behind her third twitch ban and she claimed that it was not because of the word simp. The reason behind her twitch ban was because she accidentally leaked a streamer’s private information, including their full name and email. This doxxing is a breach of terms and service, even if there was no malice and Codemiko has accepted the ban fully.

She wrote on the twitlonger post; “During an interview, a female streamer and I were talking about female harassment online and I asked her what was the worst comment she had ever received. When I saw the email, it was pretty bad and was more like a threat than a comment”. Codemiko also announced that she will be returning to twitch on February 5th, 7 days after her suspension started.
