CaptainFlowers: The 2021 LoL Championship Broadcaster Steps Down

One of the most well-known casters in the League Championship Series CaptainFlowers recently announced that he will not be joining the broadcast team for the 2021 League of Legends World Championship.

Clayton Raines AKA ‘CaptainFlowers’ has been a member of the LCS since 2017 and has quickly earned the title of “Rap God” in the world of League of Legends esports. He has called some major international tournaments in the past, including Invictus Gaming’s victory at the 2018 Worlds and KT Rolster’s insane base race at the same event.

CaptainFlowers has made the personal decision to skip the World Championship this year, which is less than a month away and will be unable to compete in Worlds due to health concerns.

The LCS announcer has announced that he will not be part of the Worlds on-air team this year. This was entirely his decision, and he stated that it had been on his mind for some time.

CaptainFlowers has been very open about his health and where he stands in recent years saying that his physical and mental health are both a long way from where he’d like them to be he also explained that because Riot wants all of the casters in Berlin for the tournament, he’ll have to change his normal schedule to accommodate the broadcast.

According to him, hestruggle a lot with the upside-down schedule and just felt super exhausted all the time, despite the fact that he has done it before, he stated that this was a major factor in her decision to skip this prestigious event.

For those who still want to see him in action, he said he will stream and watch the event on Twitch, but only during “normal NA hours.” He’ll be casting games and offering his opinion on what’s going on.

The 2021 League of Legends World Championship will begin in October, with the event taking place in Europe.
