Blaustoise Wholesome Story

Nathan ‘Blaustoise’ Blau, a former Riot Games employee, is a well-known personality in the gaming community, owing to his entertaining streams. The Twitch streamer’s contributions to game creation under the umbrella of industry behemoths, however, have not gone unappreciated.

In a recent video discussing his time at Riot Games, Blaustoise recounted an interesting story about a League of Legends player who bugged him about one of the game’s champions. Blaustoise talked up about the direct messages he receives from people on the internet during his most recent broadcast, which followed his performance at the Streamer Awards. 

Most of the direct message requests Blaustoise receives from his fans are strange, according to him. “I’ve had people like just message me some weird f***ing shit.”

They aren’t the only ones the streamer gets, thankfully. Blaustoise shared one of the “funniest” direct messages he’s received so far with a League of Legends player who appeared to desire the in-game character Yorick to be buffed, after leading his audience through his bizarre experience with direct messages on the social media platform. “Actually, one of the funniest ones was some dude who used– I had one of those people who messaged me every day. This was back when I worked at Riot. Someone messaged me every day for Yorick buffs.”

The streamer further said that watching the same message over and over again had become “addictive” to him. The fan thanked Blaustoise and ceased texting him after the devs finally modified the character. Blaustoise, on the other hand, continued to consider the individual. 

“And I thought it was like a meme-y thing this person did for like 200 hundred days. And I used to like checking in on it. I got addicted to it. So I wanted to see, eventually I would like to actually start to check to make sure he messaged me that day. Never failed. Always ‘Buff Yorick.’ And then, you know, eventually a champion is gonna be buffed, and they did eventually buff Yorick. And then literally, I checked it that day, and he said, ‘Thanks.’ And I never heard from him again.” 

This encounter did bring a grin on the former Riot Games employee’s face when he later offered his thoughts on the sweet anecdote.
