Asmongold Shared Opinion On HasanAbi’s Controversy

The latest Twitch streamer to weigh in on the current “cracker” debate that has engulfed the streaming platform’s community is Twitch Streamer Asmongold.

The controversy escalated after Twitch banned two of Hasan “HasanAbi” Piker’s moderators for using the word, sparking a seemingly endless argument over whether “cracker” is a racial slur or not. With a mild take on the use of the word “cracker,” popular MMORPG streamer Zack “Asmongold” commented on the issue surrounding Hasan “HasanAbi” Piker.

During a recent stream, Asmongold had been waiting to hop into a session of Final Fantasy XIV online when he was asked a question about “cracker” and responded with a statement. Before giving his perspective, Asmongold provided a brief overview of the debate for those unfamiliar with the situation saying; “(HasanAbi) called some girl or something like that a cracker. People are mad about it because it’s a racial slur and then people are saying it’s a c-word or whatever.” Asmongold then went into detail about his feelings towards the word “cracker” adding; “The only c-word really is c*** and, uh, cracker is not really the c-word or anything like that. It’s obviously a racial slur, it’s not as bad as the n-word but you shouldn’t be using racial slurs for anybody in my opinion.”
