Asmongold Defended Valkyrae

Twitch streamer Asmongold made his comeback to Twitch recently and one of the first things he did was defend Rachell Hofstetter aka Valkyrae in the RFLCT skincare issue, alleging that “she obviously got played.”

After his mother passed away, Asmongold took a break from streaming. He did, however, make a brief reappearance in which he promised to be “less of an a**hole” in the future and confirmed plans to return soon.

On November 7, he followed through on his claims and returned to the platform. He also addressed the criticism to Valkyrae’s now-defunct RFLCT skincare company, which compelled her to see a therapist. He stated; “The RFLCT thing was dumb. But Valkyrae, she obviously got played. That’s why she’s not doing the deal anymore.”

He feels she could have sold it despite the uproar if she had disregarded it, adding; “A handful of people would have been pissed off. But that’s it, right? If she had just ignored it, she could have been fine.”

He applauded her for not doing so, and believes it proves she was misled. He further stated; “She chose not to because she didn’t want to get played herself even if she did make money on it. Because you look like an idiot.”

Nonetheless, he admitted that she should be held responsible for putting herself in that situation, at least in part. However, he believes it would be a “learning experience” for the audience, and he reminded them that “people make mistakes.” Asmongold isn’t the only streamer who has expressed his opinion on the matter.
