Amouranth Won Best ASMR Streamer

Kaitlyn “Amouranth” Siragusa is largely responsible for ASMR becoming one of Twitch’s most popular categories.

In 2021, Amouranth was one of the most popular Twitch streamers, recognized for her adult content, business savvy, and controversial behavior. She was one of the first to popularize the hot tub meta, as well as the ASMR and yoga pants metas, all of which got her into a lot of trouble. Despite the controversy, ASMR remains one of the most popular streaming genres on the platform. At the inaugural annual show, the Streamer Awards chose to honor it with its own award.

It was difficult not to poke fun at the Streamer Awards 2022’s ASMR category. The prize was presented by Twitch streamer Esfand, who mimicked ASMR streamers’ broadcasts by whispering into the microphone. 

“Contrary to popular belief, the reason that I’m actually presenting the award for Best ASMR Streamer is not that I have the most-watched hours, it’s because I have a bigger chest than both of the hostesses,” Esfand said.

Katrina, SkepticalPickle, Foxenkin, and Amouranth were the four streamers in the category. Esfand revealed the solution by dramatically opening the envelope near the microphone, causing some crinkling ASMR for viewers at home.

“Thank you, everybody,” Amouranth whispered. “I’m super proud of my community for voting with one hand.” 

While everyone was having a good time joking about it, Amouranth has had a lot of success in the last several years. Twitch, which isn’t even her highest-earning platform, has almost 5 million followers. Amouranth has revealed that she earns a large sum of money each month, the most of which comes from her adult content. It will be interesting to see what Amouranth comes up with for 2022 now that her new fart jar company is up and going.
