ZLaner Streams With Dr Disrespect

ZLaner, a popular CoD content creator, has managed to avoid a Twitch ban despite breaking the platform’s ban avoidance regulations by streaming Warzone with banned streamer DrDisrespect.

Dr Disrespect, a popular Twitch streamer, was banned from the platform back in June 2020 and has been blacklisted since then. Some streamers have been penalized for promoting Dr Disrespect’s work, but that may be changing.

On September 22nd, Zlaner went live on Twitch, just before a Twitch Rivals tournament with a $75,000 prize pool. Over the course of a couple of hours during several pre-tournament warm-up rounds, Zlaner played multiple games alongside Dr Disrespect and TimtheTatman. Dr Disrespect and TimtheTatman are both YouTube-only streamers, but Dr Disrespect’s Twitch ban is the major issue.

Twitch streamers might be banned if they’re live with a banned streamer, according to Twitch’s ban evasion guidelines.

During the recent Twitch stream, Zlaner stated that he thought the rules only applied to partnered streamers, to which TimtheTatman said, “That’s good, ask for forgiveness, not approval.”

Twitch is normally quick to punish users who break its rules, but not this time.

Fans of Zlaner may recall a Twitch suspension he received in July for streaming a Call of Duty: Warzone event while dressed as Dr Disrespect. It’s presently unclear what made this a more serious offense than streaming with the banned streamer on Twitch. Twitch hasn’t said whether this is due to a change in the platform’s rules or any adjustments to Dr Disrespect’s ban.

TimtheTatman declared on Twitch that he couldn’t play games with Dr Disrespect, and when he moved to YouTube from Twitch earlier this month, he was fast to reconnect with the two-time champion.

Despite the fact that Dr Disrespect was given a permanent ban by Twitch, it appears that something has changed because Zlaner is still unpunished today.

Streamers are prohibited from intentionally showcasing or advertising banned individuals like Dr Disrespect, according to the Twitch guidelines. Zlaner’s lack of awareness with the platform’s rules may have kept him out of trouble when streaming with Dr Disrespect on Twitch, but his viewers hailed him as a hero. Despite becoming a champion among the Dr Disrespect fan base, Zlaner was unable to win the recent Twitch Rivals event. 

Although the reason behind Dr Disrespect’s Twitch suspension is unknown, the popular YouTube streamer has stated that he will pursue legal action against Twitch. Dr Disrespect has bounced back in a variety of ways on YouTube, and he continues to come up with new ideas, such as starting a game company.
