xQc Speaks About IShowSpeed

xQc is the most recent big-name content creator to weigh in on the ongoing conflict surrounding YouTuber IShowSpeed.

On April 7, 2022, a Twitter drama erupted after Jake Lucky, an esports commentator and co-founder of Full Squad Gaming, exposed an act by IShowSpeed, who was spotted being misogynistic in-game while playing Valorant, a competitive shooter. The tweet in question went viral, with the video featuring IShowSpeed receiving 2.7 million views in the first twelve hours after it was posted.

Because of the nature of the scenario, a number of influencers were seen reacting to the clip in which Daniel “Keemstar,” the presenter of DramaAlert, began to stir up controversy by calling Jake Lucky’s tweet “racially motivated.” xQc noticed what Keemstar was trying to imply and jumped into the debate to take a direct shot at the former by saying: “Apparently keemstar seems to think that “is a female talking to me? Get off the game and do your wash and dishes” is good “trash talk” or even “trash talk” at all. Pretty rich to try to use the racism card while overlooking blatant sexism. Stop baiting women haters. Getting old.”

Following IShowSpeed’s meltdown while playing the competitive First Person Shooter produced by Riot Games, multiple social media platforms such as Twitter and Reddit flew into a frenzy. A number of people were critical of the entire situation and did not support IShowSpeed as a whole.

When the dispute began to circulate on Twitter, it became more of a Jake Lucky vs. Keemstar situation. Following a persistent back and forth between the two content makers and influencers, a number of well-known Twitch personalities began to weigh in on the subject.

After a few hours, xQc reacted and gave his opinion on Keemstar’s statement, and the drama proceeded to escalate. The French-Canadian livestreamer appeared to be speaking in a more serious tone, and he did not tweet in his normal all-caps style. Within two hours of xQc posting his opinion, the tweet had over eleven thousand likes, indicating that followers and audiences reacted strongly.
