xQc Shares His Thoughts About Fuslie, Sykkuno & Valkyrae YouTube Deals

Top Twitch streamer xQc says they “f**ked it” in their agreements with the Google-owned platform after Fuslie said she was transferring to YouTube to join colleagues Sykkuno, Valkyrae, and LilyPichu.

Members of the OfflineTV and “Amigops” groups have also been moving from Twitch to YouTube, along with TimTheTatman, Myth, Ludwig, DrLupo, and others. In an apparent determined effort to replicate the strong sense of community that Twitch has built up, YouTube is signing up closely related creators. But because of this, xQc thinks that these broadcasters (Fuslie, Sykkuno, Valkyrae, LilyPichu, and others) might have pushed YouTube for more advantageous agreements.

xQc said; “No joke, I think OTV, they kinda f**ked it. Let’s say they’re being paid about one or two million each, a year, right. Let’s do some quick maths. I truly think, what if OTV banded altogether, and then said, ‘yo, dude, you cannot get any of us to YouTube, unless you give us a package deal – you buy out all of OTV for $200 million.’ I’m not kidding. I think the likeliness of a big number like this to happen, would have actually worked. I’m not kidding. Because you’re not buying a piece of something, you’re buying one big thing, and that’s worth a lot of money.”

The fact that not all of these streams are actually OfflineTV subscribers presents a small flaw in xQc’s study. LilyPichu is the only member of the four who is an official OTV member, despite the others being closely related. As opposed to buying out individual individuals, xQc thinks that buying out entire communities will become the “norm” in the business moving forward, whether it be for platform contracts or sponsorships.
