xQc Shares About Streamers Using Slurs

Felix “xQc” Lengyel, a Twitch streamer, has publicly criticized content creators who use slurs during livestreams.

Jake Lucky, Full Squad Gaming’s co-owner, accused Adin Ross of making a homophobic remark during a stream while unaware that his voice was being captured.

We hear about content creators being banned from Twitch or YouTube for making an insensitive comment during their livestreams on a regular basis. Some well-known people have found themselves in hot water after an old video of them using a racial slur resurfaced on the internet months, if not years, later.

xQc has now issued an outraged Twitter rant, urging streamers to “stop making slurs,” stating that blaming such behavior on historical context is insufficient.

Jake Lucky tweeted a clip from YourRAGE’s livestream on April 11 in which the streamer’s companion uttered a homophobic slur, referring to someone off-camera as a “f****t” without realizing he was being recorded.

Lucky then posted the video, stating that YourRAGE was accompanied by Twitch streamer Adin Ross. YourRAGE soon responded, claiming that it wasn’t Adin Ross, but a “high school friend.”

The message comes after YouTuber Darren “IShowSpeed” Watkins’ contentious comments, in which he made a sexist remark against a female VALORANT player. A few of his fans defended him, claiming that racial insults triggered his outburst.

Speed, on the other hand, faced a barrage of criticism online, with many claiming that his following apology video was insufficient. Especially since it wasn’t the first time he’d been into trouble for making a sexist remark.

Following up on Lucky’s tweet, Twitch’s most popular streamer xQc also fired out a tweet condemning content creators who use derogatory slurs, as well as their supporters who defend them.

xQc stated in the rant; “Stop saying slurs and stop making apologies for your f***king ‘creators.’ We ‘used to’ do a lot of things in the past. We don’t live there anymore. No one is being soft, you are being dumb.” Apologise for yourself if that’s what you believe in. Don’t apologise for anybody else. You feel like you’re right and don’t want to apologise. Don’t. Pay the price. Simple trade. No one forces you to do anything.”

As of this writing, Adin Ross has not replied to the drama. Users who have been following the drama on Twitter, on the other hand, have done nothing but, with Lucky’s post igniting a heated debate online.

Furthermore, with streamers and fans still at odds over IShowSpeed’s statements, it appears that this particular controversy is far from done.
