xQc Loses $500,000

Popular Twitch streamer xQc lost a wager worth $500,000 on the match between France and Argentina in the FIFA World Cup final.

For those who don’t know, xQc is a Canadian Twitch streamer and former professional Overwatch player who goes by the name FĂ©lix Lengyel. With over 11 million followers, he is one of the most well-liked Twitch streamers, and his high Overwatch skill and engaging character are well-known.

In response to a fan’s comment, xQc recently acknowledged that he enjoys gambling and always finds a method to bet in practically every game he plays. He continued by naming specific titles, such as Grand Theft Auto 5 and Gambling Simulator. Additionally, xQc claimed that he has an extremely addictive nature and that as a result, he becomes addicted to everything he does. The FIFA World Cup 2022 championship match between France and Argentina took place on December 18. The Twitch streamer xQc stated that he had put a $500,000 wager on France to win a total of $1,425,000 since he was so sure that France would win. Argentina scored twice in the early half of the game, jeopardizing xQc’s preparations. At this time, xQc made the decision to cash out, but this was a mistake because the game ended in a tie with three goals scored by each team.

xQc could have saved all of his money if he had waited until the finish of the game and cashed out right before the penalty shootout. This merely serves to demonstrate that, even those who appear to have it all together, are capable of making stupid errors, especially when it comes to gambling. This is not the first time that gaming has caused xQc to lose a significant sum of money; just a few months earlier, it was revealed that xQc had lost around $1 million due to a mistake on a gambling website.

Although xQc is aware that gambling might not be the healthiest hobby for him, he doesn’t appear to have any plans to alter his routine. For years, Twitch gambling content has been a contentious subject because many users and streamers find it to be troublesome.

Twitch recently said that it would prohibit gambling-related streams on its site. After much deliberation and discussion, it appears that Twitch has finally decided that gambling-related material is inconsistent with its core values.
