Twitch Scammer Fakes Stewie2k Retirement

Jacky, “Jake”. Yup, also known online as Stewie2k is a professional Counter Strike: Global Offensive player and he is the captain for Team Liquid. Earlier this year, he posted on his social media that he encountered a scammer who was impersonating him and faking his retirement.

“Sadly I have to bring you some sad news. In the next week I will be quitting CS: GO and live-streaming. I have had some new opportunities come up in life which will not allow me to carry on with this path in life anymore. To give back to the community, I will be giving away all my CS: GO skins… You can enter this giveaway by competing a roll to win your prize!”, Stewie2k stated with an attached link to the said giveaway which obviously was a phishing link.

Stewie2k burst his frustration through his Twitter account saying; “It’s getting pretty ridiculous @TwitchSupport. Give me power for the ban hammer. I’ll handle it.”

It was obvious that he was angered because he put an angry pouting face emoji at the end together with the attachment of the statement of the said Twitch scammer.

The scam works when someone clicks on the attached link made by the scammer where they are requested to fill in their personal account credentials in order to participate in the giveaway or claim the prize.
