Twitch djWHEAT Blames xQc

Marcus ‘djWHEAT’ Graham, Twitch’s Head of Community, slammed xQc’s management in a series of tweets. The employee claims that the streamer’s team is at fault for allowing him to continue watching copyrighted material while watching the TV show meta drama.

In January 2022, Twitch’s popular TV show meta was shocked after Hasan Piker received a DMCA strike for streaming MasterChef many times. The copyright removal came after Imane ‘Pokimane’ Anys was banned the day before for hosting an Avatar: The Last Airbender broadcast.

Marcus Graham, a Twitch employee, lashed out at the management of Felix ‘xQc’ Lengyel, one of the site’s most popular creators, for enabling him to jeopardize his own career. DjWHEAT also slammed the Canadian team, calling them “worthless” and accusing them of failing to look out for the streamer’s best interests. Following Hasan Piker’s unexpected DMCA strike on January 8, a discussion concerning Twitch streamers watching copyrighted material live, such as TV series and movies, erupted on social media. Marcus Graham, a Twitch employee, chimed in on the topic, claiming that streamers like xQc are jeopardizing their channels and that management isn’t looking out for them.

He tweeted out; “Lots of people are getting on xQc for continuing to stream content he doesn’t own but maybe it’s time to start pointing out just how worthless his own management team must be to let it happen,”

DjWHEAT went on to say that most managers would intervene if their client was risking their career. “A real management team would be putting a stop to anything that could jeopardize their client’s career and ability to make money. Anything less and you are under bad management.”

Shannon ‘ShannonZKiller’ Plante, a former Twitch Community Manager of Education, also chimed in on the TV show meta argument, and had harsh words for Pokimane, one of the site’s most popular creators. The former employee did not pull punches when asked about her suspension on January 7 for viewing Avatar: The Last Airbender. “Considering how Pokimane owns a management company and still did this s**t to herself, I’d say these fools are beyond saving.”

During his live broadcast, Lengyel responded to Marcus Graham’s tweets, asking why people were so upset over him watching anime. He asked; “Where was all this energy when DisguisedToast was watching 150 episodes of Naruto while literally sleeping on stream?”

Twitch has not issued an official remark on the TV program meta as of this writing. Marcus ‘djWHEAT’ Graham, who announced his retirement from the streaming platform in November 2021, should also be mentioned. In January 2022, he will officially step down from his position.

Only time will tell if the meta will rapidly die out. For the time being, it appears that xQc is ignoring his warnings, as he continues to stream famous anime Hunter x Hunter.
