Swatters Condemned by Summit1g

Popular twitch streamer Jaryd Lazar aka Summit1g has talked about swatting via twitter stating that it has put the lives of his friends and loved ones in danger. Swatting is, of course, the practice of prank-calling law enforcement with false accusations using a specific address.

It is a criminal offence in multiple countries and could lead to extremely dangerous and even life-threatening situations. Some of the biggest streamers across different platforms have experienced this kind of situation while doing a live broadcast including Bugha, Tfue, and a massive youtube personality Ethan Klein. Now, Twitch streamer Jaryd Lazar aka Summit1g has spoken out about his experiences with swatting as according to him, he is the “most swatted streamer” on Twitch, and this practice has put the lives of his loved ones at risk including his very own father. On May 23rd, Summit1g posted a series of tweets sharing about his own experience with swatting.

He went on to reveal that he’s been subjected to even more swatting than people might have imagined, due to the fact that he hasn’t shared any of his experiences in public. He also went on to share that these dangerous events had even affected his own father’s safety. Here’s what he wrote; “You know I’m the most swatted streamer who never tells when it happens. Can’t tell you how many lives that have been at risk and it’s never my own. Actually fuckin lame. Gotta move my Dad who just got in there, wasting my adult time for your childish actions. Grow up idiots.” Summit’s sudden revelation about his encounters with swatting shocked the gaming community. Dozens of his fellow streamers and hundreds of fans shared their support in the replies to his tweets.
