Streamer Sweet Anita suffers from Tourette’s Syndrome

SweetAnita is a popular Twitch streamer with over 1.2 million followers on the platform ever since joining Twitch in 2018. She also has 800,000 YouTube subscribers and almost 200,000 followers on her Twitter account. Twitch streamer Sweet Anita is open about her condition of Tourette’s syndrome. Tourette’s syndrome is a problem with the nervous system that causes people to make sudden movements or sounds, called tics, that they can’t control.

Someone with Tourette’s might blink or clear their throat over and over again. Some people may blurt out words they don’t intend to say. However, Sweet Anita doesn’t want to be defined by her condition. She stated in an interview; “I guess, it’s always the thing that people will notice about me first and the thing is I’ve grown used to it long before I arrived on Twitch”.

Instead of letting it get her down, she has turned the negativity around. She goes on some charity streams and she works often with Tourette’s Action which is a U.K.-based charity that aims to help kids growing up with the condition. She has been broadcasting almost everyday and playing and streaming games such as Among Us and Crash Bandicoot which is her favorite. She’s used her broadcasts to raise around $40,000 for disability-focused charities.
